Heart and Vine Variant, Fenton, green
Hello. Have just acquired a Fenton Heart and Vine green bowl. The pattern is the finer variant type, the reverse is the bearded berry pattern. As you can see it has 8 ruffles not six as normal with pronounced tooth. It is similar to the Heart and Horseshoe shape but with more pronounced teeth and without the horseshoe as in the good look pattern. I have noticed just one shown on David Dotys site in green which turned up in 2009 with berry back but no mention of it being 8 or 6 ruffled. I am wondering if this was a prototype done around the same time as the horseshoe type. Would love to hear your comments or members. Photo courtesy of Ron Revell©2014
